Saturday

From the 1st November we will have a third Weather Reporter - Deborah Cater from

 Sedella in Andalucia, Spain

Here's a bit about Deborah

"I left the land of my birth (UK) in October 2010 to come to Spain and write a travel book I'd been promising myself I'd write for 10 years. I bought a 4WD, left hand drive version, packed some belongings and my two dogs into it and arrived at my new home in the Andalucian mountains three days later.

I gave myself a year to write the book and I've managed it; City Chronicles:A Tale of Two Cities , is out there ready to be snapped up by eager readers. I am now working on the next two books in the City Chronicles trilogy due out in 2012.

I write travelogues, so necessity dictates I travel. I love it. I am sticking to Europe for the time being, there is enough history, culture and fun to be had on this wonderful continent to keep me occupied for a while! "

And some interesting weather reports I hope! This is going to be so exciting Deborah!

29th Octobe

I did some gardening this afternoon - tidied up a few dead-heads, cut back the buddleia where it's overhanging the path etc.
Surprised to find the Fairy Rose is in bloom and there are catkins on the hazel tree,

In AUTUMN???

The Fairy Rose flowers once a year - in Spring.

Things ain't right......

29th October

I've been a bit lax this week - busy do things but getting nowhere fast.

We've had some rain - it poured on Thursday, but mostly bright sunshine, although its is much colder out now. The heating gets turned on of an evening and we're shutting the greenhouse door before it gets too dark to see what we're doing in the garden.
The chickens put themselves to bed at dusk, so we tend to make sure they are all OK at the same time.
I suppose I'll have to get all the geraniums in soon - they are still flowering though, so I'm very reluctant.

The wallflowers are blooming - only the yellow ones, no idea what's happened to the red ones.
Loads of tomatoes - we're going to make soup from them. My attempt at chutney last year wasn't all that successful.

Friday

28th October

Cold front - rain - wind - falling leaves

(photo of unknown origin, but it is a good representation for the present!)

Currently 6c/46f here in Maiden, NC. Big change from yesterday! The leaves are turning from green to orange/gold/red and dropping! Surprisingly the air is not overly humid despite the occasional rainfall. I want hot cider!
